The Preventive Health Clinic is a special center that focuses on the treatment of TB infection and disease. Our staff include some of the most knowledgeable medical providers in TB care.

Each month we see hundreds of patients with TB infections and approximately 50 patients with active TB disease.

At the clinic we:

• Perform TB testing,
• Do blood work,
• Collect sputum samples,
• Administer and monitor medication,
• Manage any side effects to the TB medication,
• Perform contact investigations (look for people who may have been exposed to TB germs), and,
• Educate other medical providers on signs, symptoms and medical management of TB disease.

The Preventive Health Clinic is the only TB clinic in the East Metro Health District which includes Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale Counties. We serve and protect more than one million people.

Our TB Unit investigates reports of the disease in the community, in workplaces, in our schools and other institutional settings. Our nurses and administrative personnel work to stop the spread of the disease by monitoring individuals who have been exposed to the bacterium or, especially, who have active cases of tuberculosis.

At the Preventive Health Clinic, anyone who thinks he or she might have been exposed to the tuberculosis bacterium can request a skin test. If the result is positive, the clinic offers a full range of further testing and any necessary treatments at the lowest prices in the medical field. A price list is included below.

We accept cash, debit cards, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. No checks, please. A fee of $10 is charged for an appointment no-show.
